HBO continues to complete the cast of its long -awaited serial version of “Harry Potter”. Bertie Carvel – known for the roles in “The Crown” and “Dalglshu” – who will play the figure of Cornelius Knot, the minister of magic, has just joined the acting team. The actor honored with the prestigious Tony and Olivier awards will bring charisma and stage experience to the production.
Earlier in this role we could watch Robert Hardy in four parts of the film saga. Now Carvel will take over this iconic character, appearing in several episodes of the HBO series, which is to be a faithful screening of the book original.
Earlier, it was announced that the new incarnations of the three main characters – Harry, Ron and Hermione – will play, respectively, Dominic McLaughlin, Alastair Stout and Arabella Stanton. Other roles will appear, among others Paapa Essied as Severus Snape, John Lithgow as Albus Dumbledore, Janet McTeer as Minerva McGonagall and Nick Frost as Hagrid.
The series is to be created with huge momentum. Executive producers were Francesca Gardiner, who also serves as a showrunner, Mark Mylod, known for “succession”, Neil Blair, Ruth Kenley -letts and David Heyman, responsible for the film version of the adventures of a young wizard. Production is carried out by HBO, Warner Bros. Television and brontë film and tv.
Although HBO does not provide detailed comments about the casting, the official statement indicates that “as the pre -production works progress, the information will be disclosed gradually”. For now, it is only known that the series is to be faithful to the book versions of JK Rowling, which is also involved in the project as an executive producer.
Carvel, apart from the impressive theater career, is already associated with HBO. Soon we will also see him in the spin-off “Game of Thrones” entitled “A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms”. Fans of both the literary and film universe of “Harry Potter” eagerly look for the release dates, and subsequent casting ads only heat the atmosphere around the production.
