Eliza Rycembel is one of the most talented and respected Polish actresses of the young generation. She graduated from the acting department of the Theater Academy in Warsaw. She started her career at the “Roma” Musical Theater; She also performed, among others at the theater “in Wola”.
Her film debut was the role of Lili in “Promise” (2014) dir. Anna Kazejak, for which she received the acting award at the International Film Festival for Children and Youth in Vienna. Then she appeared in the films “Carte Blanche” (2015) Jacek Lusiński, “Innocent” (2016) Anne Fontaine, “#wszystko game” (2016) by Agnieszka Glińska, “Nina” (2018) Olga Chajdas, “Piłsudski” (2019) Michał Rosa and “Dark, almost night” (2019) Boris Lankosz, and in numerous films, and in numerous films short, incl. In the “silence of Polish sheep” Maciej Stuhr (2017), school etudes, television and internet performances.
One of her most important performances on the big screen, in which she presented versatile abilities – not only acting, but also vocal, was the role in the film “Corpus Christi” (2019) Jan Komasa, which brought her an eagle in the category of the best supporting female role and acting prize at the Festival of Polish Film Films in Gdynia. She also starred in the film “Oath Irena” (2023) Louise Archambault.
Eliza Rycembel is also known to viewers from performances in feature series, such as “Belfer 2” (2017), “Blinding from the lights” (2018), “1983” (2018), “Reversed. Fathers and daughters” (2019), “Osiecka” (2020), “Abstani 2” (2022) or “Przemmy” (2024).
The role in “Nina” brought her nomination for the Zbyszek Cybulski (2019) and the distinction during the 33rd edition of the Tarnów Film Award, while the short film “Don’t talk to me” – nomination for the Jan Machulski in the best actress category (2023).
In 2016, she became the laureate of the “Talent Three” award in the Film category for “maturity and truth in acting creations; checking in very demanding roles; expressive and interesting screen personality, but finally that she is an acting discovery of recent years.”
This year’s Bella Woman band will show five selected films with the participation of Eliza Rycelel: “Promise”, “Nina”, “Corpus Christi” and short Metroes – “Don’t talk to me” (2022) dir. Hanna Kilińska and “Comme des Cowboys” (2024) by Julia Sadowska.
The 23rd Bellatofifest International Film Festival will take place from June 28 – July 4 in Toruń in Kujawy and Pomerania.
