FX has renewed ‘American Horror Story’ for a 13th season, there is no official confirmation yet whether this will be the last season. The three additional seasons the series received after the well-received “Double Feature” were something of a rarity, but viewership dropped, especially on live broadcasts. Nevertheless, the production is still popular on streaming services, which gives hope for a possible extension.
Speculation about the future of the series was fueled by the recent words of Murphy himself, who in an interview with “The Hollywood Reporter” revealed that talked about the future of “American Horror Story” with Sarah Paulson and Evan Peters, icons of this series. Although neither of them has confirmed their return yet, the mere suggestion has sparked enthusiasm among fans. Both Paulson and Peters are actors who have become icons of the anthology since the first season. Their absence in recent seasons, including the latest “AHS: Delicate,” has raised questions about their future on the show.
If the two decide to return, it will be the first time they have appeared together since “AHS: Double Feature” (season 10). A possible scenario for their return could include a reunion with the witches from “Coven” (season 3), which Murphy has mentioned in the past.
Paulson and Peters have expressed a desire to explore other roles and projects in the past. Evan Peters, after his heavy role as Jeffrey Dahmer in the Netflix series, has spoken openly about withdrawing from the darker characters that drained him mentally. Although he has not officially announced his return to “AHS”, Murphy’s recent statements suggest that there is a chance of seeing the actor again in the series.
Sarah Paulson also expressed similar sentiments. After 10 years of intensive work on various characters, the actress admitted in an interview with Variety that she would like to give other actors a chance to take on similar challenges.
“Let someone else scream, run and cry for a second.” she said, admitting that her own nervous system also needed rest.
At the moment, we have no information when the series could appear in Poland. Taking into account the information about probable premiere in 2025, This will be the period in which we can assume that “AHS” will also appear in our country.
