We can watch the costume soap opera “Akacjowa 38” on TVP1 from January 9, 2023. The Spanish series is broadcast from Monday to Friday at 6:45 p.m. In March, the broadcast will be moved to 6:55 p.m. However, it does not seem that the production will lose its impressive audience because of this.
From the beginning of its broadcast in 2023, it was known that the series about the lives of Spanish elites and their services met with great sympathy in Poland. WITH KRRIT data shows that in the first year of broadcast, each episode was watched by an average of 1,113,899 viewers. That’s a large audience for a starting series.
It is worth adding that initially “Akacjowa 38” was broadcast on TVP2where it overtook such hits as the Turkish “Forbidden Fruit” (906,410 viewers) or the popular game show “Bet on a Million” (826,297 viewers). The cult production of Polish Television “The Colors of Happiness”, present on the screen for almost 20 years, overtook the Spanish telenovela by only 4,000 viewers.
From September 2, 2024, the broadcast of the Spanish production was transferred to TVP1. The broadcaster decided to broadcast the series at a very attractive time – at 6:45 p.m., just before the main newscast. This resulted in even greater viewership of the production.
According to Nielsen Media data for the period from January to mid-October 2025, “Akacjowa 38” on TVP1, it was watched by an average of 1.16 million viewers. The most popular episodes of the soap opera in 2025 attracted up to 1.43 million viewers. This makes the series the absolute leader among foreign productions broadcast on Polish television.
Since March, loyal fans of the Spanish series have to prepare for changes. TVP moves the broadcast time of “Akacjowa 38” from 18:45 to 18:55. This small difference, however, is combined with the shortening of each episode from 44 to 29 minutes.
Some consolation may be that shorter episodes mean more episodes, so the series will stay with us for longer.
Despite this, the change was met with a negative response from fansand their emotional reactions prove that “Akacjowa 38” is unlikely to see a drop in viewership.
