A unique project by Włodek Pawlik. This is how he will celebrate 10 years since receiving the Grammy

Born in Kielce, Włodek Pawlik graduated from the Warsaw Academy of Music in the piano class of Barbara Hesse-Bukowska. He also studied at the jazz department of the Hochschule fur Musik in Hamburg.

In 2014, he won a Grammy Award for Best Album Recorded by a Large Jazz Ensemble. The pianist was recognized for his album “Night in Calisia”. It is the result of the composer’s cooperation with the Kalisz Philharmonic Orchestra under the baton Adam Klocek. The compositions included in it were created on the occasion of the celebration of the 1850th anniversary of the city of Kalisz.

One of the most respected American trumpeters also took part in the recordings – Randy Brecker. “Jazz is American music. I received an award in the homeland of jazz. I must admit, I am very happy,” he said then.

Two anniversary concerts are planned – the first on March 3 at the Kalisz Philharmonic, and the second on March 8 at the Krakow Philharmonic.
