Section “50 years later” begins the celebration of next year’s jubilee 50th edition of the Polish Feature Film Festival.
On this occasion, the organizers have planned screening of the restored version of Jerzy Hoffman’s film “The Deluge” – “The Flood of Redivivus” and projection the document “The Deluge. Postscript” by Łukasz Czajka. In 1974 the film “Flood” was the first to receive the Golden Lions.
After the screening of the documentary there will be a meeting with the director and invited guests: the director Jan P. Matuszyński and film critic and pop culture expert Kaja Klimek.
“We will talk about the current status, reception and meaning of The Deluge, what it meant in the past and what its message is today and – more broadly – we will consider the position of the Polish cinema classic in the 21st century” – inform the organizers of the festival in Gdynia.
Both screenings will take place on Tuesday, September 24 – film “The Flood. Postscript” will be shown at 2:00 p.m. on the Chamber Stage of the Musical Theatre, and “The Flood of Redivivus” at 6:00 p.m. at the Gdynia Film Centre.
