In a conversation with Artur Zaborski during the 49th Polish Film Festival in Gdynia, Piotr Rogucki talked about how he managed to get the job. He admitted that he really wanted to get this role, and on the set he made every effort to make his performance as good as possible.
“I was suggested to Tomek by the producer, I went through a number of castings. (…) When I first met Tomek, I felt that I had known him for a very long time. We got along perfectly when it came to such issues as how to function on the set, but also privately “Then it only got better. I was committed to achieving the goals,” he said in an interview for Interia.
“This film has a very well-thought-out rhythm and pace. I would like to emphasize, because it has probably been said several times, that Tomek Gąssowski is a debutant, this is his first film. For a man who performs such a difficult function for the first time, i.e. a film director, Tomek had such every scene and the characters’ statements were carefully thought out. We also worked on rehearsals for so long that after the premiere, it turned out that no mistakes were made. It’s a very rewarding feeling when you know that everything we did with dedication actually works well there is no place where untruth can appear,” he praised “Wróbla”.
Rogucki also noted the small-town atmosphere of the film, thanks to which viewers will be able to easily immerse themselves in the story:
“I I am a total supporter of this type of cinema. I think that the urban or dynamic format immediately throws the viewer into a situation in which they make some kind of comparisons with themselves.
The actor and musician also admitted why he likes his hero and what is worth appreciating about him.
“Pedro shows that Each of us struggles with different situations in life. Life takes him in different directions that are not always black or white. Sometimes a person who performs a profession that is not entirely consistent with public norms may turn out to be a good guy who has a good heart and whose life just happened this way,” he explained.
