Death Adam Lewis confirmed on official account Phoenix TX. The cause of death was pancreatic cancer. The artist was diagnosed with it in 2021.
“We are devastated. There are no words that can do justice to Adam’s life. We have done our utmost to fulfill his final wishes and make him proud. We love you,” the band wrote on its website. The group has also launched a fundraiser to support his two children.
Adam Lewis was born in 1979 in Texas. He was raised in the Houston area. It was there that he met his future bandmates. In 1997, the band released an album under the name Riverfenixwhich was later changed to Phoenix TX.
The musicians moved to Southern California. The group then released two more albums – “Fenix TX” and “Lechuza” (2001) – and then disbanded. Despite their short activity, the band recorded hits such as: “All My Fault” and “Threesome”.
They performed alongside: Blink-182, Bad Religion, New Found Glory and Good Charlotte.
In subsequent years, Lewis performed, among others: Subrosie and Ultra Violent Lights. Outside of music, he focused on developing his culinary business. He became a personal chef for celebrities. He also ran a construction company.
In 2023 Phoenix TX returned for a special concert in Las Vegas as part of the festival When We Were Young. Plans for a regular tour, which unofficially assumed performances in September, were canceled after the bassist’s death.
