Chris Pratt all set to Voice the Popular Character ‘Garfield’ in the Upcoming Animated Film

Chris Pratt is all set to voice over the orange tabby cat, ‘Garfield’ in an upcoming movie following the previous releases. The character was previously voiced by Bill Murray in the 2004 version and 2006 version called ‘Garfield’ and ‘Garfield: A Tail of Two Kitties’ respectively. The cartoon is a hit despite its continuous negative reviews.

The release date and further cast is yet to be announced yet. Moving on, The film is inspired by Jim Davis’s comic strap which appeared in 1978 and has recorded a Guinness World Record of World’s Most Widely Syndicated Comic Strip.  It’s written by Oscar nominee David Reynolds of Finding Nemo. The rights of the film has been bought to release by Sony Pictures in all over the world, leaving China. Andrew Kosove and Broderick Johnson’s Alcon Entertainment and Sony Pictures are producing the film whilst Chicken Little fame Mark Dindle is directing it. The cat is also seen in main leads in projects such as Garfield Gets Real, Garfield’s Fun Fest and Garfield’s Pet Force.

The fictional cat is famous for its love for sleep and cynical attitude. It’s seen causing troubles for its owner Jon Arbuckle and his another pet dog, Odie. He also appears to hate Mondays and fellow cat Nermal which once compelled Garfield to ship him to Abu Dhabi.

This news was hit a week later it was announced that Chris Pratt would be voicing over another animated character i.e, Mario in in the next Mario Bros project. The entire cast has been declared with Anna Taylor-Joy voicing Princess Peach, Keegan Michael as Toad, Seth Rogen  as Donkey Kong, Fred Armisen as Cranky Kong, Kevin Michael Richardson as Kamek and Sebastian Maniscalo as Spike.

This isn’t all, the Jurassic World star has a lot of experience in voice overs and his list includes ‘Lego Movie’, Pixar’s ‘Onward’. The actor was last seen in a sci-fi film The Tomorrow War. His next flick Jurassic World: Dominion is set for a theatre release on June 10, 2021.
