The cast of the live-action film “Moaiana” promises to be extremely good! We have just learned that the main role was taken by Catherine Laga'aia, who looks remarkably like the animated heroine.
“I'm really excited to play this character because Moana is one of my favorites. (…) I'm honored to be able to (…) represent young girls who look like me“- said 17-year-old Catherine Laga'aia.
Apart from her, the cast also includes John Tui (Moana's father – Tui), Frankie Adams (Moana's mother – Sina), Rena Owen (the main character's grandmother – Tala) as Moana's mother, Sina; and Rena Owen, who hails from the Bay of Islands in New Zealand, as Tal's respected grandmother.
Thomas Kail is to direct the new “Moana”. Shortly after announcing the live-action release, Dwayne Johnson shared with the world via a post on X how great the news was for him.
