Jerzy Skolimowski is an outstanding director, screenwriter, actor, producer, poet and painter. Winner of the Golden Bear in Berlin, Special Jury Awards in Cannes and Venice, Golden Lions in Gdynia, Polish Film Awards – Eagles and many other prestigious awards, including an Oscar nomination for the film “IO”. This year marks 60 years since the production of his feature debut, “Rysopis”, which festival viewers, along with five other works of the artist, will be able to see on the big screen as part of his retrospective.

His work has permanently gone down in the history of cinema, and subsequent works of the artist provide us with extraordinary experiences and, as always, encourage deep, intense reflection. It is a great honor for me that during this year's edition, we will be able to honor him with the Golden Angel for his creative defiance. “This year's winners will also include Zbigniew Zamachowski, whose creative path is itself an encyclopedia and a guide to the history of Polish cinema. His roles, always brave, uncompromising and surprising, are the heights of acting craftsmanship that have accompanied us for many years. The paths of every student of film studies are always set by directors and film trends, but also by acting talents. Zbigniew Zamachowski is one of the actors who leads us through the nooks and crannies of film art,” adds the festival director.
Zbigniew Zamachowski is a versatile artist. Viewers know him not only from his various theater and film roles, but also as the author of music and lyrics and the voice of iconic animated characters. The actor received many prestigious awards, including: Award named after Zbyszek Cybulski, Polish Film Award – Eagles and awards for leading male roles at the Polish Feature Film Festival in Gdynia. The artist, awarded the Gloria Artis Silver Medal for Merit to Culture, will be a member of this year's jury of the main competition during the Tofifest IFF. Kujawy and Pomerania.
