This is the end! Fleetwood Mac will not return to the stage. “No chance of that”

Group Fleetwood Mac the most famous line-up consisted of: Mick Fleetwood, Stevie Nicks, Christine McVie, John McVie and Lindsey Buckingham. The latter was thrown out of the group at the end of the group’s activity (in 2019), but fans were still under the illusion that their beloved band would return. Dreams were shattered with the death of Christine McVie in November 2022.

The artist and member of the legendary band died at the age of 79 in hospital after a short illness. Five days later, it was revealed that the cause of death was an ischemic stroke. The artist also suffered from cancer of unknown primary origin, which had metastasized throughout her body.

In the fall of 2023 Steve Nicks she spoke about a possible return Fleetwood Mac. The star doubted that the lineup could be reactivated after McVie’s death.

“What will happen without her?” – the 75-year-old told Vulture magazine. “You know what I mean? She was my soulmate, my musical soulmate and my best friend who I spent more time with than any of my other best friends besides Fleetwood Mac. Christine was my best friend,” Nicks said at the time .

“Who will I be looking at on the right and won’t she be there behind the Hammond organ?” – she added. “When she died, I came to the conclusion that we really couldn’t continue this. There was no reason for it,” commented the singer.

Stevie Nicks has spoken again about possible appearances Fleetwood Mac. This time in the interview for “Mojo” she was more specific. “There is no chance for Fleetwood Mac to come back. Without Christine, none of this will happen,” she said.

Nicks also added that returning with a reduced lineup would be incredibly difficult. “Even if Lindsey came back into the lineup, he also has his own health problems. I won’t speak for him, but I’m not sure if Lindsey would be able to tour with the band when we have to go on tour for six months. It’s very demanding.” – she added.

The singer’s opinion is identical to the leader’s position Mick Fleetwoodwho called the loss of McVie in 2023 an “impossible point.”

Group Fleetwood Mac was founded in 1967 by guitarists Peter Green and Jeremy Spencer and a drummer Mick Fleetwood During a career spanning six decades, she has sold over 100 million records worldwide.

Their greatest achievements include creating timeless hits such as: “Rhiannon”, “Little Lies”, “Seven Wonders” Whether “Gypsy”. In 1978, they won two Grammy Awards – for Album of the Year (“Rumours”), as well as Song of the Year (“The Chain”).

It is worth mentioning that from 1998 to 2014, Christine McVie was not part of Fleetwood Mac. Despite this, the band existed and gave concerts, and they excluded some of the songs they performed from their setlist.
