The funeral of Marzena Kipiel-SZTUKA. Colorful balloons and crowds of fans

Marzena Kipiel-Sztuka's funeral was unlike any other celebration of this type. Crowds of fans said goodbye to the actress, and the church was decorated with… colorful balloons.

The deceased's wish was for mourners to bring colorful flowers, not wreaths. Family and friends also asked to wear colorful clothes, not black.

Surf-Art was born on October 19, 1965. She graduated from the Technical Secondary School of Construction in Legnica. In the years 1987-1989 she worked as a prompter at the Theater. Aleksander Fredro in Gniezno. Until 2000, she performed at the Dramatic Theater in Legnica.

In 1997, she made her debut on the big screen. She appeared in a small role in the Dutch film “Character” directed by Mike van Diem, which won the Academy Award for Best Foreign Language Film in 1998.

Polish viewers met her in 1999, when she started playing the role of Halina Kiepska – the wife of the unemployed slacker Ferdynand, who works hard to support the family. She played the character for 23 years until production ended in 2022.

As she recalled in the book “The World according to the Kiepskich: The crazy story of the cult Polsat series” by Jakub Jabłonka and Paweł Łęczuk, in the late 1990s she mainly went to castings for commercials. She was counting on being involved in a spot promoting one of the toothpastes, because, as she joked, “my jaw was actually in decent condition.” Suddenly, I was offered to read a role for a new comedy series.

She was interested in the fact that the producers were looking for a mature woman who did not want to force her to look younger. At the casting, she read her role with Andrzej Gałła, whom the creators then saw as Ferdynand Kiepski. As she admitted, after many previous rejections, she did not expect that she would be hired. “I went to this casting so as not to feel guilty for not being there,” she told the book's creators.

Meanwhile, the creators were delighted with her performance. As Anna Skowrońska, the production manager and co-producer of “Świat dla Kiepskich”, recalled in “The Crazy Story…”, everyone argued about who would play the role of Halina until the appearance of Kipiel-SZTUKA. “She played in such a way that we literally fell under the tables laughing. She stole our hearts,” she said.

Apart from the popular sitcom Kipiel-Sztuka, she also appeared in films and series. We saw her on the small screen “First Love” and “Crime Wave”. She also played small roles in “Tricks”, “Fighter” and “Love is near”.
