On May 6, 2024, he passed away Jacek Zieliński – versatile musician and brother Andrzej Zielińskiwith whom he founded the legendary group Skaldowie. The singer had been ill for several years, but he hid this information from listeners and the media. Until his last moments, he enjoyed music and actively gave concerts.
Shortly after Jacek Zieliński’s death, his brother was asked what was next with the band. Andrzej Zieliński admitted then that Skaldowie were still willing to give concerts. He did not want to disappoint his listeners and assured that even though his brother would no longer appear on stage, the remaining musicians would do their best so that Skaldów’s songs do not die and resound on the largest stages in Poland.
“My music is not dead. We will continue to play it. I will cooperate with other singers because my music will be present until the end of the world,” the artist admitted in an interview with Super Express.
Andrzej Zieliński did not change his mind. Today he confirms his words and explains that at first the singers will be forced to join Skaldów only for single performances due to their own plans. “We will continue to play, there are still five of us from the original lineup. (…) For now, due to the singers’ commitments, they will change,” said the musician.
The founder of the group decided to reveal a few names with whom he would like to cooperate during Skaldowie’s upcoming concerts. It’s hard to say who we will be able to contact. For example, we sang with Kuba Badach” – recalls Andrzej Zieliński.
“There are too Stanisław Wenglorz Whether Marek Piekarczyk. The latter sang the song with us many times ‘I don’t see you in my dreams’” – adds the musician. However, he still did not name a specific candidate who could replace Jacek Zieliński in the long term.
According to Andrzej Zieliński, his brother was irreplaceable and it will be difficult to find a suitable person to replace him. The whole band still misses the singer, but they want to give concerts and are not afraid of new challenges. “Of course, Jacek, as a vocalist, is irreplaceable. We will always miss him,” concluded Jacek Zieliński’s brother.
