“Presumed innocent”: Jake Gyllenhaal in the hit series of the year. This is a new version of the cult film

“Presumed Innocent” from 1990 was courtroom drama based on the best-selling novel by Scott Turow. The film told the story of a successful prosecutor, Rusty Sabich, who was suspected of a terrible crime. A false accusation turns his life into a nightmare. Desperate, Sabich tries to regain his lost happy life at all costs. During exhaustive and long interrogations and court hearings, Rusty he is fighting to prove his innocence.

Harrison Ford played the main role in the film. He was accompanied on screen by: Bonnie Bedelia, Brian Dennehy and Raul Julia.

After many years, we finally got it a new adaptation of Turow's popular novel, this time in a TV series version. Ford was replaced on screen by Jake Gyllenhaal. His partners are: Ruth Negga, Renate Reinsve, Peter Saarsgard, Bill Camp and OT Fagbenle. The producers' team included such renowned names as David E. Kelley (“Big Little Lies”) and JJ Abrams (“Lost”, “The Hundred Faced Agent”).

The first two episodes of the series “Presumed Innocent” debuted on the Apple TV+ platform on June 12. More will appear every Wednesday.

For Jake Gyllenhall, appearing in the mentioned series is another role that was played by someone else in the past. We recently watched the actor in the Prime Video hit – “Road House”, a remake of “Bouncers”, in which Patrick Swayze created a memorable role.
