Krzysztof Krawczyk he was a vocalist loved and known throughout Poland. His hits reigned supreme among his compatriots and were heard on radio stations throughout his career. The musician died on April 5, 2021, plunging Poles into great sadness.
Krzysztof Krawczyk's impressive achievements included dozens of hits that were sung by entire generations. He was professionally active almost until the end of his life. Back in 2018, he performed at 55. KFPP in Opole. In recent years, he has been very popular with young audiences (he regularly gave concerts at youth festivals), mainly due to new versions of his hits. “I wanted to be” and “Steamboat”.
The legendary artist has been associated with… Ewa Krawczyk. She was the musician's third wife. Apart from marriage, the couple also had a professional relationship. The woman performed with Krzysztof Krawczyk on stage, singing in his backing vocals. She also served as a road manager.
Krzysztof Krawczyk and his third wife raised their son from a previous marriage – Krzysztof Krawczyk Junior. After the father's death, there was a family conflict, the consequences of which continue to this day. The entire inheritance of the legendary singer was transferred to Ewa Krawczyk, and the son had to face life in poverty.
Since the musician's death, a battle has been going on in court between Ewa Krawczyk and Krzysztof Krawczyk Junior. They are fighting for the estate of the deceased singer. This is quite a lot of money. In the meantime, Krawczyk's son lives in poverty and tragic conditions. He cannot count on help and empathy from the musician's third wife, and fate is not smiling on him.
Some time ago, in an interview for Show News, Krzysztof Krawczyk Junior revealed what his living conditions were like. “I live in a tiny apartment, as someone there also said, it's a street. It's just very small, you can barely walk there. Well, but there is a separate corner. I can't be where it was supposed to be (my apartment – ed.) inherited from his grandparents,” he said with regret.
It turns out that the musician's son cooperated with his father in recording his music. He took an active part in creating his greatest hits. Krzysztof Krawczyk Junior, however, did not receive any money from royalties.
“Things that were recorded 30 or almost 40 years ago, I recorded, my dad recorded, we were not in the recording studio at the same time, but we recorded together as a duet and separately, I did not receive a penny, neither from ZAIKs nor from these royalties I have nothing,” said Krzysztof Krawczyk's son.
Even though the legendary musician's son is still fighting for his inheritance and is not entitled to any royalties, he receives help from Krzysztof Krawczyk's friends. Recently wife Marian Lichtman – a famous musician from the band Troubadours and Krawczyk's long-time friend – she gave an interview in which she confessed that she and her husband were trying to help a man who had been injured by fate.
“You can't impose anything on Krzysztof, if he wants, he comes to us. His door is always open and he has us,” she said, mentioning that Krzysztof Krawczyk's son is often invited to dinner.
“Krzysiek once told me: 'Take care of my son if something happens to me,' and then he cried. Today I understand what he was afraid of…” added the musician's wife. She revealed that Krzysztof Krawczyk had a premonition of what might happen after his death and wanted to take care of his son's future while he had the opportunity.
