Jena Malone on returning to ‘The Hunger Games’. “I’m waiting!”

The long-awaited prequel “The Hunger Games“, That is “Ballad of birds and snakes“, debuted in cinemas in November last year. They played the main roles Rachel Zegler and Tom Blyth. At the beginning of June this year Suzanne Collins has announced that she is working on a new book set in the Hunger Games universe. “Sunrise on the Reaping” will be released on March 18, 2025, and the action will take place 40 years after the events presented in “The Ballad of Birds and Snakes” and 24 years before “The Hunger Games”.

Although the rights to the novel have not yet been sold, there is speculation that they will be sold soon. The previous Hunger Games films were produced by Lionsgate. The five adaptations have collectively grossed over $3.3 billion worldwide.

Jenna Malone She played the role of Johanna Mason in three parts of the popular franchise: “The Hunger Games: Catching Fire” and two installments of “Mockingjay”. In a recent interview, she was asked, whether she thinks Johanna could return in one of the new films.

“Come on, where’s Johanna Mason? I’m waiting!” – she replied in an interview with Entertainment Tonight, adding: “I mean, it wouldn’t even have to be a prequel, it could be an after. Basically, let’s see what will happen 10 years later,” she said.

Malone is enthusiastic about possibly reprising the series. She continued her interview by discussing possible scenarios. “Where is the government? Where have we gotten to with the revolution? I think that’s a really important part of our society. You can rebel, but how do you rebuild yourself?” she continued.
