He thought this was the end of him! He heard the brutal truth from Bon Jovi's wife!

Frontman of the group Bon Jovi (check!) has been suffering from voice problems for about five years. In February this year Jon Bon Jovi he confessed that a year and a half ago he underwent an innovative operation to reconstruct his vocal cords. As he explained, the aim of the procedure was to implant a modern implant that would help rebuild the almost disappearing vocal cord. The singer did not hide the fact that he still had not reached his full vocal strength.

“At a critical moment, one of my vocal cords began to atrophy. I couldn't sing well. I felt like my craft had been taken away from me” – said the singer in an interview with the magazine “People”.

At the same time, Jon Bon Jovi takes into account that his voice may not return to its former glory. As he recently confessed – this is the end of his activity on stage. “If (my) singing isn't great, if I can't be the guy I used to be… that's the end of me” – he said in an interview with “The Sunday Times”and after a while he added: “I feel good with it”.

In a recent interview for “Independent” Bon Jovi spoke about his health condition.

The Grammy Award winner revealed that he decided to undergo vocal cord reconstruction surgery under the influence of his wife, who shared with him a brutally honest opinion about his deteriorating vocal abilities. He had problems with his voice for years. The apogee of these problems occurred during a performance in Nashville as part of his band's last tour.

“I gave my whole heart to the audience then. I was convinced that I had done well” – noted the artist. However, the star's wife quickly corrected him. “She said, 'It wasn't great, and I know how great you can be.' It was a devastating conversation, but there was no one better to tell me the truth” – he confessed.

That's when Bon Jovi he realized he had to face a problem. “I realized it was time to face it. I had a great career. That doesn't mean I can't write a song for someone tomorrow, I just won't go on a 100-date tour. I went to the doctor and said I had done everything I could. I constantly cooperate with vocal trainers and practice my voice every day. Every day is a fight for recovery. I can still sing. I can't necessarily sing on stage for two and a half hours, four times a week, but I aspire to get that back” – he emphasized.

“I lost something that gave me a lot of joy. I realized that happiness has to be worked on, that happiness is what you make it. Now it's not about seizing the day, it's about enjoying every day” – added.

Let us remind you that the band's new album will be available in stores on June 7 – “Forever”. This will be the 16th album in the group's over 40-year career. In total, the album will contain 12 songs, the list of which opens with a single “Legendary” (Look!).

“This album is a return to joy. From the beginning of writing, throughout the entire recording process, we knew that this was Bon Jovi's music that should be listened to loudly and that immediately puts you in a good mood.” – said the band's vocalist.
