“Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets”: Tom Felton regrets that this scene was deleted

Tom Felton He started his acting career at the age of 8, appearing in commercials. In 1995, he made his debut on the small screen in the TV series “On the Bug”, and three years later he got his first serious role in a movie – he played Bean in “Borrowers“Peter Hewitt.

Felton's next films were the television production “The Other Side of Reality” (1999) and the famous “Anna and the king” (1999), where he played the son of the title character, played by Jodie Foster. Then he applied for a casting, which brought him the greatest popularity and allowed him to spread his acting wings.

Few people know that Tom initially wanted to play Harry Potter, but eventually it was found that he was definitely more suited to the role of Harry's greatest enemy – Draco Malfoy. Interestingly, before getting the role of Draco, so did Bonnie Wright, who played Ginny Weasley. , Felton has not read any of the Harry Potter books.

In between working on subsequent “Harry Potter” sets, Felton also appeared in other films. We could watch it, among others: in “13Hrs” or “Rise of the Planet of the Apes“. He also appeared in the horror film “Revelation”, the action film “Fangs of War” and the drama “Teresa Raquin”. In 2023, viewers could watch him in the movie “Some other woman”.

Tom Felton is permanently remembered by viewers as the villain, the ruthless Draco Malfoy from the “Harry Potter” film series. It turns out that a certain scene was removed from the second part, after which the audience could look at Draco with a slightly softer eye.

Felton recently gave an interview to E! News, in which he confessed that he wouldn't change anything about the fan-favorite series, except for the inclusion of that one deleted scene from “Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets”. Perhaps some of you had the opportunity to see it, for example in the extended version of the film.

“I think these films were perfect in their own way. And (fans – editor's note) know it much better than me, I was only 13 years old. There is a scene when I am with 'dad' – in Borgin and Burkes “I think it was on the DVD release as a deleted scene,” he revealed.

The scene in question is the one where Draco and his father Lucius Malfoy (Jason Isaacs) visit the shady shop of Borgin and Burkes together. Young Malfoy looks at the magical items, then his father hits him with his cane, telling him firmly, “don't touch anything.” Everything is watched by Harry (Daniel Radcliffe), who accidentally ended up in a wardrobe in the room. Thanks to this scene, viewers would have the opportunity to understand Draco's behavior to some extent – after all, he was controlled by his ruthless father for most of his life.

“If I could go back and do it all over again. Of course, there are moments when I look at myself as an 11-year-old and I shudder and say, 'What are you doing?' But apart from that, I think the story was told perfectly,” added the actor .
