Dwayne Johnson, a wrestler experienced in the film industry, is considered indestructible in the media environment. It is not without reason that his nickname is “The Rock”. Unfortunately, each stone has its own durability, as the actor unfortunately found out yesterday.
Johnson published a video on his Instagram profile in which he informed about the injury to his right elbow. He will be forced to undergo thorough tests, but he hopes that he will be able to get back into shape as soon as possible.
“If the movie you're in is called 'The Smashing Machine', you can expect to get beat up” – he joked in the recording.
The film will present the fate of MMA fighter Mark Kerr, two-time UFC heavyweight tournament champion. As the man became an increasingly important person in the sports world, outside the ring he struggled with addiction and marital problems. Emily Blunt (“A Quiet Place”, “Oppenheimer”) will play the wrestler's wife, Dawn Staples.
“The Smashing Machine” will be Benny Safdie's solo directorial debut. His previous projects were co-created with his brother Josh. The siblings have made two independent films that have gained considerable publicity – “Good Time” (2017) with Robert Pattinson and “Rough Diamonds” (2019) with Adam Sandler.
