Chad Stahelski Reveals New Details About ‘Highlander’ Reboot, Starring Henry Cavill

American-British production told a story about a highlander from Scotland, who was given the gift of immortality. Connor MacLeod was originally played by Christopher Lambert.

A new version of “Highlander” is to be made With Henry Cavill in the lead role. We know the actor from three seasons of the Netflix adaptation of “The Witcher” and “Man of Steel” from 2013.

The release date is not yet known. It is said that the film is scheduled to hit cinemas in 2026and the filming will begin in early 2025.

Chad Stahelski will direct, who has helmed every installment of the John Wick film series. In an interview with Collider, Stahelski revealed that preparations are underway to begin production in January and confirmed that filming will take place in Scotland.

“We start filming in January in Scotland, so I’ll be leaving right after we leave. On Monday I’m going to Scotland to do a final reconnaissance of the location” – said Stahelski.

The director also commented on how this project will be different from the “John Wick” films in many ways.

“For me, swords are one of the most difficult things to do in fight scenes” – says Stahelski. “The muzzle flashes are digital, so we don’t have to worry about hurting anyone (…) The swords are a little more difficult because I have to trust that my actors won’t gouge out their eyes or stab anyone when they throw this piece of metal at each other.”

“In every sword movie, someone gets poked or hit in the head or something like that. A little more skill and a little more dedication, so “that’s always a problem.” – adds the filmmaker.
