“Beetlejuice Beetlejuice”: This movie is cult. We've been waiting for the sequel for 36 years! There is a trailer

Just like in American cinemas, the film will also be released on Polish screens under the title “Beetlejuice Beetlejuice”. This is significant because in the first part, saying the title character's name three times summoned him from the afterlife. The sequel to the hit 1988 film will debut in multiplexes on September 6, 2024.

Little is known about the plot of the sequel “Beetlejuice”. What is known is the cast, which includes artists associated with the success of the first part of the film – Michael Keaton, Winona Ryder and Catherine O'Hara. He will sit in the director's chair again Tim Burton. It is also known that the stars of the first part will be partnered with: Jenna Ortegawho will play the daughter of Ryder's character, and Justin Theroux.

He will also play one of the roles Monica Bellucci, privately the director's partner. She is to play the role of… the title character's wife. On the other hand Willem Dafoe admitted that he was also in the cast and that he was given the role of “policeman in the afterlife”. “I am a dead person who was a B-class action movie star when he was alive,” he revealed. – “After the accident, I moved to that world where, thanks to my skills, I became a detective.”

He will be one of the producers of the sequel Brad Pitt through his company Plan B. The authors of the film's script are Alfred Gough and Miles Millar, who worked with Burton on the hit Netflix series – “Wednesday”.

Filming for the second part of “Beetlejuice” began in London on May 10, 2023. However, they were interrupted due to the actors' strike. As Burton revealed, it happened less than two days before the planned end of production. “I'm grateful for what we've accomplished so far. It's literally a day and a half away. We know what we still need to shoot. We've got 99 percent of the footage already,” Burton told the Independent.

On November 30, the director posted a photo from the set on his Instagram, which pleased all his fans. “I just finished filming 'Beetlejuice'. Thank you to everyone involved,” he wrote under the photo.
