A crazy idea of Polish fans of the group Metallica. What are they preparing for the concert in Warsaw?

At the end of April 2023, the European part of the group's “M72 World Tour” began in Amsterdam Metallica (listen!). As part of the promotion of the new album “72 Seasons”, the thrash metal legend gives two different concerts in each city, with different setlists and different supports under the slogan “No Repeat Weekend”.

Polish concerts will take place on July 5 and 7 at the PGE National Stadium in Warsaw. On the first day in the capital, Metallica was on stage will support Architects and Mammoth WVH. During the second performance, legends will perform Five Finger Death Punch and Ice Nine Kills.

Polish fans gathered in the Overkill.pl fan club are preparing a unique campaign called “Yellow Stadium” for the first of these concerts. The whole project will involve fans lifting the yellow foil after the band enters the stage and holding it throughout the first song.

The total amount of foil production, exactly the same as that used during national team matches, and distribution for each seat at the stadium, is between PLN 28,000 and PLN 30,000. zlotys. Therefore, the fan club decided to ask for financial support via one of the crowdfunding websites. Currently (April 8) the counter shows an amount of over PLN 12.8 thousand. zloty.

The idea of a yellow stadium is related to the colors of the “72 Seasons” album and its accompanying tour. Fans do not want to repeat the idea of a 35-meter white and red flag that appeared at the Silesian Stadium in Chorzów in 2008. Years later James Hetfield (vocals, guitar) said it was the craziest thing fans had ever done at a show. Ultimately, the flag was delivered to Metallica's headquarters in San Rafael (California) in the United States.
